Administrative Information

ABOUT THE COLLECTION
Acquisition: These papers were left by Joseph W. Blaine to Patricia Ann (Brightman) Walsh in his will, which was proved in Newport on October 27, 1986. She donated the papers to the Rhode Island Historical Society in 2001 and 2002, as Patricia Walsh Rose. The majority of the records were donated in 2001 except where noted by the 2002 accession number on the folder. The items given in 2002 were primarily the diaries of Rowena (MacLellan) Blaine and Joseph W. Blaine Jr.
Processing information: For the most part, Rick Stattler processed subgroups 1 and 4, and Karen Eberhart processed subgroups 2 and 3. Portions of the collection were transferred to the Printed Collection and to the Graphics Division.
