Scope & content
This collection contains family photographs and correspondence between Elizabeth Wheeler Paul and her daughters, Mrs. Mary Lownes Paul Morris and Mrs. Sallie Wheeler Paul Morris. Also included are letters to various family members written by William and Israel Morris, twin sons of Mrs. Mary Lownes Paul Morris. The twins are writing home as they spend time in Newport with their grandparents. An informal ship's log of the ship George and Annie written by Elizabeth Wheeler Paul is also included, as well as a pair of pockets monogrammed with her initals.Access Points

Biographical note
Elizabeth Wheeler Paul (1817-1906) and her husband William Wheeler Paul (1817-1886) were longtime residents ofNewport, living at the corner of
Second Street and
Cherry Street. After their daughters had married and moved away, their twin grandsons, William Morris (1867-1942) and Israel Morris (1867-1891) would spend the summers (or possibly longer) with their grandparents in Newport.
