Biographical note

Elizabeth Wheeler Paul (1817-1906) and her husband William Wheeler Paul (1817-1886) were longtime residents of Newport, living at the corner of Second Street and Cherry Street. After their daughters had married and moved away, their twin grandsons, William Morris (1867-1942) and Israel Morris (1867-1891) would spend the summers (or possibly longer) with their grandparents in Newport.
