Biographical note
Booth Tarkington (1869-1946), was an American novelist and dramatist from Indiana, known for his stories of life in the Midwest. During his prolific writing career, Tarkington won two Pulitzer Prizes. He maintained a home in Indianapolis, Indiana, and from 1923 until his death in 1946, he spent his summers at his home in Kennebunkport, Maine, named Seawood. Booth Tarkington died on May 19, 1946, in Indiana.
