Scope & content
The collection is mainly comprised of correspondence, including personal and professional letters, baby announcements, and letters of recommendation. Most of the correspondence is addressed to S. M. Venard, but some is addressed to a group of Sisters of Mercy or another sister in administration and perhaps passed along to S. M. Venard. The Event Programs folder includes several programs and invitations, as well as a business card for Air Force Lt. Donald F. Benoit, whose college Commencement program is also included.Access Points

Biographical Note
Sister Mary Venard Benoit, R. S. M., earned a B. S. S. from Bryant University in 1940 and an Ed. M. She taught at St. Edward's Junior High School in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Called Sister Mary Venard, she began teaching at Salve Regina College in 1953 as an instructor in Secretarial Science and the Assistant Treasurer. She was listed as faculty in Business as of 1955, and she continued to teach until ca. 1964. She remained Assistant Treasurer until ca. 1966.Access & Use
