Biographical / Historical

Judith M. Creedy, from Dobbs Ferry, NY, was a 1965 graduate of Pembroke College at Brown University. On March 30, 1964, Judith attended a protest against segregation principles in St. Augustine, Florida. She was arrested alongside Mrs. John M. Burgess, the wife of a prominent bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts, and Mrs. Malcolm Peabody, the mother of Endicott Peabody, then-governor of Massachusetts. Judith was one of many women from Pembroke and Brown involved in the civil rights movement.
