Contents Note: Description pasted on back of photograph: "Investigator Chief Walter Anderson of the state board of Medical Examiners leads May Ramsey, also known as "Doc" and "Ma," from her establishment after her arrest in widespread raids against what officials call "California's biggest abortion ring." Four law enforcement agencies took part in the raid on four establishments in which 19 persons were seized."

Contents Note: Description pasted on back of photograph: "Arrested by county officers at Manchester, Tennessee, in connection with the cremation and possible abortion of five or more babies at their tourist camp. Left to right: Harry F. Carraway, 28; Mrs. Cora Lee Peters, 46, his mother; and Harold H. Peters, 55, are fingerprinted by Deputy Sheriff Bruce B. Ragan (extreme right). Two Negro employees at the camp claimed to have witnessed the abortions, followed by the cremation of the babies. "

Contents Note: Description pasted on front of photograph: "Philadelphia: Bartender Milton Schwartz and his beautician wife Rosalie go on trial January 30th for the fatal abortion attempt on food store heiress, Mrs. Doris Jean Ostreicher. The 22-year-old blonde died in their apartment last August 24th, two months to the day after she eloped with Earl Ostreicher, a Miami Beach motorcycle policeman. Here, the couple is shown in the magistrate's office during their hearing."

Koome later addressed the group that wants to legalize abortions. The second session of the 41st Legislature began Monday.
