The Anna Canada Swain speech file is a collection of nine speeches by Anna C. Swain '11, a Pembroke alumnus and the first female member of the Brown Corporation. The speeches are arranged chronologically and were delivered at various venues from 1940 through 1952, including Columbia University's Church of the Air and the Women's American Baptist Foreign Mission Society. Biographical note
Anna Canada Swain (1889-1979) was graduated from Pembroke College, Class of 1911, and served as the first woman member of the Brown Corporation, having been chosen as a term trustee in 1949. She was president of the American Baptist Convention in 1946 and author of numerous plays on Baptist Missionary themes.Access & Use
