The papers of Alpheus Spring Packard comprise writings and correspondence. Writings are gathered in two separate volumes. The first volume, General Papers, 1874-1887, include scholarly articles in published, manuscript, and typescript form. The second volume titled Magazine Articles, 1871-1902, includes offprints and typescript copies of articles published in popular journals including Appleton's Journal, Popular Science Monthly, and Youth's Companion. Materials in the two volumes date from 1871-1902. The bulk of the correspondence is outgoing and addressed to his father, Alpheus Spring Packard, Sr., and his wife, Elizabeth Packard. Correspondence dates from 1864-1900.
