Biographical note
Founded in 1982 by Richard Cloke, the San Fernando Poetry Journal published only poetry. Cloke wrote of the poetry published by the journal that it must say something, must inform, must educate. Cloke was born January 23, 1916, volunteered service in the Abraham Lincoln Brigade, International Brigades for the Spanish Republic. He worked at variety of jobs, including at General Motors, as a farmer, and as a mathematics tutor. He wrote poetry nearly all his life, publishing much of it in the San Fernando Poetry Journal. Cloke died on October 17, 1998.
