Biographical/Historical note

Katharine DePew Burlingame was born July 25, 1900 and was the only child of Florida Ten Broeck Schneider and Edwin Aylsworth Burlingame. She was a member of Central Congregational Church, Providence Art Club, Urban League of Rhode Island, National Society of Colonial Dames, English Speaking Union and the Rhode Island Historical Society. She was an assistant librarian at the Providence Athenaeum for 50 years until her retirement in 1968. She died August 23, 1982 and is buried in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence, RI.
