Peggy Ogden graduated with her A.B. in experimental psychology from Brown University, in 1953. She went on to earn a master's degree in counseling psychology from Trinity College in 1955. Ogden was the first female store manager of a major retail store in the East and later became Director of Personnel and Labor Relations at New York City College of Technology (CUNY), a position she held for over 20 years.
Ogden's brother, Stephen, was an active member of the Brown class of 1960. He was seriously injured in an automobile accident in the spring of his junior year and died in 1963. In 1965, Peggy Ogden founded the Brown University Stephen A. Ogden, Jr. '60 Memorial Lecture Series on International Affairs. The Ogden Lectures have featured an extensive array of world leaders, including heads of state, United States and international diplomats, policy makers and practitioners, and many other astute observers of the international scene.
Additionally, she sponsored the Brown University Peggy A. Ogden '53 Chaplaincy Fund and was proud to be a board member of Project Eye to Eye, a program for learning disabled students. She died on February 14, 2018.
