Arrangement
The collection is divided into ten series. Series 1 includes correspondence by, to, and relating to S. J. Perelman. Series 2 includes manuscript writings of S. J. Perelman, including those in collaboration with others; it also includes writings by other authors with whom he associated. Series 3 includes the working files of S. J. Perelman: with correspondence, notes, drafts, clippings (with and without attached notes), tear sheets, etc. Series 4 includes contracts. Series 5 includes awards. Series 6 includes miscellaneous printed material. Series 7 includes photographs of the Perelman and West families. Series 8 includes books and journals from the Library of S. J. and Laura West Perelman. Series 9 includes writings and documents of Nathanael West. Series 10 includes supplemental material received separately from the main body of the collection.
