Historical note

Two hundred hours of tape recorded interviews with members of the Trinity company and its board; with playwrights and educators; with members of the Dallas Theater Center, the American Repertory Theatre, and the National Endowment for the Arts; and with other key observers. The most in-depth interview is with Adrian Hall who discusses his Southern Background and early theatre experience in Texas; the naturalistic approach to theater; his work in New York as an actor and director; questions of art and society; the selection of Anne Bogart as artistic director of Trinity Repertory Theatre; the theatrical revolution of the 1960's and 1970's; and different aspects of theatre audiences.
