The Office of Student Activities files are dated from 1938 to circa 1951. Most of the files consist of correspondence and financial records of student organizations at Brown University. They are arranged alphabetically by topic and have been organized into one series.
Series I. Brown University files contains correspondence, financial records and other materials related to Brown student organizations. Some of the organizations represented in the files are the American Veterans Committee, music clubs such as the Brown University band and orchestra, academic clubs such as the Chemistry and French Clubs, religious clubs such as the Christian Science Undergraduate Group, political clubs such as the Young Progressive Citizens of America and the Young Republican Club, and theatrical clubs such as Sock and Buskin. In addition, the files include office files of the Brown Daily Herald, the student newspaper at Brown, and Liber Brunensis, the Brown University yearbook, as well as materials from the numerous fraternities at Brown.
