Typed research notes prepared by Nancy Love comprise the bulk of the collection. The notes cover the period 1878-1952 and are based on Elsie Bronson's manuscript, as well as catalogues, yearbooks, correspondence, and corporate/administrative records.
Series I contains narrative reports regarding the postwar period prepared by faculty and administrators for Love. The reports provide information about the development of Departments, Divisions, and Administrative offices, 1945-1950. The reports may include biographical information forms filled out by faculty and administrators.
Series II provides information on the development of administrative and academic policies, Departments, and Divisions as well as an extensive outline of RISD history.
Series III provides a snapshot of each year and may include corporate officers and committees, departments, instructors, number of students, course schedules, the number of Association members, prizes granted, the number of diplomas granted, major events for the year, scholarship information, and Alumni Association information. The notes may include newspaper clippings and pages taken from the catalogues.
