Historical note
The Kennedy family and its tragedies often touched many Americans in unusually personal and high emotional ways. The 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy and of his brother, Senator Robert F. Kennedy in 1968, traumatized the nation. Most Americans living at the time remember where they were and what they were doing when they heard the news of the killings. As a result, many people felt compelled to save memorabilia and other items relating to the Kennedys. The collection consists of select articles reporting on political events regarding the Kennedy brothers and the events surrounding the assassinations of each man. Includes additional memorabilia relating to the Kennedys public life.
