Biographical/Historical Note
The Normal Student is a college periodical created by students at the Rhode Island Normal School (now Rhode Island College). The organization was composed of two literary societies, the SIDQ (Scribimus Indocti Doctique) and the EBB (Elizabeth Barret Browning Club). SIDQ was a precursor organization of The Normal Student. The paper was created due to increased membership of both societies and the desire to establish a school paper for the college. The periodical was published quarterly. The contents of The Normal Student include information on school outings, editorials, and updates on alumni. The editors of The Normal Student were Wood Katie L. and Baker Louise.Access & Use
