Biographical/Historical Note

FYS 100 Raid the Collections: Research and Storytelling with Library Collections was held during the Fall 2024 semester at Rhode Island College. The students in the course, divided into five groups, investigated specific materials from the Rhode Island College Special Collections and created podcast episodes regarding the items.

Access to the collection: The collection is open for research either online via Rhode Island College’s Digital Collections or in the Special Collections Reading Room. Podcast episodes 4 and 5 can only be listened to online while on RIC's campus.

ABOUT THE COLLECTION  
Acquisition: The collection was donated in 2024 by FYS 100 Raid the Collections instructor, Professor Amy Barlow. Barlow signed a deed of gift at the time of donation. Additionally, all students in the course signed media release forms.
Processing information: The collection was described by Veronica L. Denison, Digital Archivist and Special Collections Librarian, in 2024. Information provided by Amy Barlow was also used for the inventory description.
