Scope & content
The collection consists of the Comprehensive Facilities Planning Committee report detailing an assessment of long-term assumptions, needs, and goals for Rhode Island College facilities as of 1992. The Patrick I. O’Rourke Children’s Center property, referred to in the report as the east end of campus, was to be fully acquired by Rhode Island College within two years of the report. The report includes the Committee’s recommendations for space reallocation for and relocation of Academic Affairs, Administration and Finance, and Student Affairs departments and facilities.Access Points

Biographical/Historical Note
Following a recommendation from the NEASC in 1990 that Rhode Island College develop a Comprehensive Facilities Plan, a Comprehensive Facilities Planning Committee was appointed in 1991 and met weekly through the Fall semester. The Committee used the Rhode Island College Capital Development Projects list and Asset Protection Plan as a basis for this study.Access & Use
