Scope & content

The collection contains correspondence, reports, and workshop documents of the Quality Service Steering Committee. Correspondence between committee members, administrators, and quality service trainers, such as Katherine Carey Baker. Several workshop training documents assumed to have been used in the training program are included. A report was presented April 2000, comparing the results of the Committee’s program with its stated goals, which were surpassed.

Biographical/Historical Note

The Quality Service Steering Committee was formed in October 1997 by Rhode Island College President John Nazarian. The Committee was initially named the Customer Service Satisfaction Steering Committee, but the name was changed before November 3, 1997. As of April 2000, the Committee organized the training of at least 470 faculty/staff members and students in customer service with the assistance of five service trainers.
