Scope & content

The collection consists of two copies of a report from the architectural and engineering company Castellucci, Galli Associates regarding the Facility Expansion Program for Rhode Island College. The report includes a letter to Rhode Island College President, Dr. David Sweet, from Eugene D. Castellucci. Additionally, the report outlines renovations and alterations to Whipple Gymnasium, Roberts Hall, and Walsh Gymnasium. Plans include the conversion of Whipple Gymnasium to the Communications and Theater Program, renovations to Roberts Hall – Music Center, and an office area addition and main gymnasium renovations to Walsh Gymnasium. A budget cost summary estimating the cost of renovations and a program phase proposal are included. An Appendix detailing the cost summary was prepared by Charles J. Krasnoff & Associates, Inc.

In 1979, Castelucci, Galli Associates created a report and study in accordance with the Facility Expansion Program requirements under the direction of Rhode Island College. The Facility Expansion Program looked to renovate or construct new facilities for the Communications and Theater, Music, Health, Physical Education and Recreation Departments.
