Contains movie stills, candid photographs, news clippings, publicity reviews, scrapbooks, political campaign materials, correspondence.
This series has been divided into three subseries.

Sub-series 1. Francesca Braggiotti Lodge
Contained in this subseries are photographs of the Braggiotti family and Francesca Bragiotti Lodge, and materials relating to the Italian film in which Francesca Bragiotti Lodge starred: Scipione L'Africano in 1937 as well as an exhibit program in 1997 about her life.
The folders are arranged by subject. Items within a folder are arranged chronologically. Publicity and news clippings of
Scipione L'Africano are also in an oversize box at the end of the collection.
Sub-series 2. John Lodge: Family Life and Public Service
Contains photographs, articles, news clippings, and political campaign, gubernatorial, military, and diplomatic service materials. Also in this subseries are transcripts of spoken addresses by Lodge concerning World War II and material pertaining to his leaving the movie business. Includes the book jacket for John Davis Lodge, a life in three acts by Thomas A. DeLong.

Sub-series 3. John Lodge: Film and Stage
Contained in this subseries are records which document the screen and stage career and life prior to the political career of John Lodge and to some degree that of Francesca Braggiotti. Includes: news clippings, correspondence, publicity materials, scrapbooks, playbills, research notes, and photographs. Some materials are in French, Spanish, or Italian.
The materials documenting the Logde's personal activities are organized in chronological order. The films and stage productions are divided by type of production and listed in alphabetical order by screen/stage title. Items within a folder are arranged chronologically where date is known. Loose playbills for Bass Theater (Gloucester, MA) productions, Manhattan Repertory Theater Company (Ogunquit Playhouse, ME)and South Shore Players (Cohasset, MA) were separated from a scrapbook and filed with related materials in the Theater: Summer Stock folder. A filmography preceeds the film/ stage listings.
Series 2. Moving Image and Sound Recordings
Specialized equipment is required to view the U-Matic videocassettes and open reel film.
The records contained in this series are audio and visual material consisting of VHS and U-Matic cassettes, open reel film and audiocassettes. A number of the recordings are commercial copies or are derived from archival masters held in other repositories.

Sub-series 1. Videocassettes
Contained in this subseries are videocassette recordings of motion pictures of John Lodge and Francesca Braggiotti. In this subseries is a recording of screenshots of then three year old daughter, Lily Lodge, produced by Columbia Pictures. The format of the cassette is in parenthesis after the title.
This subseries contains several cassette recordings which document activities related to John Lodge's career in public service in the 1950s, as well as a memorial service and subsequent public works project dedication,and a recording of George H.W. Bush's presidential inauguration.
The records are organized in chronological order by motion picture production date or subject of the recording.
Sub-series 2. Audiocassettes
Audio cassette recordings in this sub series document activities related to John Lodge's diplomatic career in Argentina and Switzerland. There are also recordings of memorial services in Lodge's hometown of Westport, Connecticut, with remarks by Lodge's daughter, Lily noted. Also included is a recording of President George H.W. Bush's congressional address (1989).
The cassettes are arranged in chronological order.
Sub-series 3. Open Reel Film
Contained in this subseries are open reel film recordings of several of John Lodge's 1930s motion picture titles as well as screen tests for Francesca Braggiotti. Also included are recordings which document John Lodge's public service career and related engagements. Several recordings feature the activities of Francesca Braggiotti Lodge and daughter, Beatrice. The feature films are housed in the original film canisters and or film transport boxes.
