Historical note

The Amalgamated Transit Union was founded in 1892 as the Amalgamated Association of Street and Electric Railway Employees. The Providence, Rhode Island Division 618 was founded in 1913. The ATU represents transit workers across the United States and Canada, including bus drivers and railway employees. Both Scott Molloy and his grandfather, Henry W. Molloy, were active members of the union.
