This series contains records on topics of personal and professional interest to Bohnert. Included are materials on library and information science, computer technology, information retrieval, and information regarding various corporations, schools, and organizations. Of special interest is material involving two pioneers of computer technology, John Mauchly and J. Presper Eckert Jr., both of whom Bohnert corresponded with. Topics also include classification systems, conferences, library associations, and Bohnert's projects and employers. Types of records included are correspondence, publications, news clippings, pamphlets, brochures, patents, and photographs.

Series 2. ADI/ASIS

This series contains records pertaining to Bohnert's involvement in the American Documentation Institute (ADI), which was later renamed the American Society for Information Science (ASIS). Bohnert, an active member of the professional organization, chaired various panels in addition to writing reviews for the Journal of the American Society for Information Science. Bohnert corresponded with many of the leaders of ASIS, including Madeleine Berry Henderson, Harold Wooster, and Claire Schultz (See Personal Files, Series III and Professional Correspondence, Series IV). Types of records included are correspondence, brochures, materials from annual meetings, newsletters and publications. The majority of the materials emanates from annual meetings.

This series documents Bohnert's non-professional activities. Included are records pertaining to membership in groups and organizations, personal business, family and friends, and acquaintances. The majority of the correspondence involves Bohnert's brothers, ex-husband Herbert Bohnert, nieces and nephews, and friends. Types of records include correspondence, photographs, cards, lease agreements, receipts, financial records, news clippings, and notes. Of special interest is a personality sketch done by Bohnert for a 1939 psychology class.

Series 4. Professional Correspondence

This series contains correspondence and letters between Bohnert and her colleagues. The material mainly addresses innovations in information science, past and present research publications in the field, and Bohnert's positions at library schools.

Series 5. Manuscripts

This series contains materials involving work performed by Bohnert for books and shorter publications. Included are drafts, outlines, and notes. Included in this series are Bohnert's University of Chicago master's thesis in political science written in 1947. Also included are drafts, outlines, and notes for an unpublished book entitled Information Science for Librarians.
