Historical note

These are the records pertaining to the relocation of the University of Rhode Island College of Continuing Education (URI-CCE), collected and generated by Dean Walter A. Crocker (Dean, College of Continuing Education from 1984 -2000). In 1998 the College was renamed the Feinstein College of Continuing Education. These records chronicle the negotiations, planning, publicity, and move from the Barnard School building (the former home of CCE) to the Shepard's Department Store building in January 1996.The records were transferred to the Archives by Dean Walter A. Crocker on December 5, 2000. The types of materials include minutes of meetings, reports, memoranda and correspondence, and news releases and clippings. Most of the clippings are copies of original articles, some are original.
