Abstract:
This collection contains letters to and from John Potter, pocket diaries written by Julia Johnson Wells, a transcription of the diaries, and a pamphlet entitled Important Correspondence Between Elisha Reynolds Potter and R. G. Hazard, Esq., 1876. Potter was a resident of Connecticut who served in the Connecticut Legislature. His family had close ties to Rhode Island.

Abstract:
This collection consists of the papers of three generations of the Blaine and MacLellan families, who resided in Newport from 1882 to 1986. Alexander MacLellan (1856-1939) emigrated from Scotland in 1882, and served as a head gardener at several large estates. His daughter Rowena (1886-1965) married jeweler Joseph W. Blaine (1875-1953). Their son Joseph W. Blaine Jr. (1920-1986) was an electrical engineer who retired young to devote himself to the study of history.

Abstract:
The Jeanne McHugh Kerr papers relating to Alexander Lyman Holley consist chiefly of manuscripts and research materials relating to Kerr's biography of Holley. The papers also include several scrapbooks and letter books that belonged to Holley, samples of minerals and stainless steel, microfilm of Holley's papers at the National Museum of American History in Washington, D.C., and personal papers such as a desk diary and address book that belonged to Kerr. The material is dated between 1847 and 1983, with most dated between 1949 and 1980.

Abstract:
Florence King’s papers document her life as a writer and social commentator. This collection includes correspondence with publishers and agents, book contracts, publicity, reviews, tearsheets, manuscripts and letters that King received from fans of her work. The manuscripts, tearsheets, literary correspondence and copies of columns provide great detail into Miss King’s writing career. Her financial records give insight into what a writer of her time was paid for her work. The correspondence often includes the letters King received as well as a copy of her reply which makes it easy to follow conversations and see context. There are a few personal photographs and letters with friends but not much of an intimate nature.

The Arthur B. and Sally Bruce Kinsolving papers are primarily comprised of correspondence, articles and essays, and newsclippings, with dates ranging from 1885 to 1951. Letters from Arthur Kinsolving to his wife, Sally Bruce, and letters to Mrs. Kinsolving make up the majority of the correspondence between 1896 and 1945. The other major portion of correspondence are sympathy cards, letters and telegrams for Sally Kinsolving upon the death of her husband in 1951.
