Abstract:
The Glenlyon Dye Works began as a minor department relegated to operating wherever space could be found or made within the confines of Sayles Bleacheries Plant A at Saylesville. This department began as early as 1876, for the purposes of bleaching and dyeing wool yarn and piece goods. It was not formalized until 1882 when it turned entirely to processing goods for the new Lorraine Manufacturing Company, and the volume of work increased considerably. Later, as Glenlyon Print Works, the plant specialized in printing and finishing fine cotton and silk blend fabrics.

Abstract:
The Maurice Glicksman Provost Files includes office files and documents relating to Maurice Glicksman's role as Provost of the University from 1978-1990. Although the collection ranges from 1954-2000, the majority of files come from 1960-1990. This collection also includes some of Glicksman's research and classes before and during his time as Provost. A substantial part of the collection is from Glicksman's position on the Admininstrative Committee on Academic Development (ACAD) and the Administration Committee on Appointments and Promotions (ACAP), his role on the Academic Council and the Universities Research Association, and his interactions with various University intiatives and institutions - including departmental affairs and staffing plans. Glicksman also had dealings with various foundations and governmental branches for grant coverage and research approval. As such, some of Glicksman's own engineering and physical science research is contained in this collection. In addition, this collection contains restricted files pertaining to the legal affairs of the Univesity during Glicksman's time as provost.

Abstract:
The Goff family papers number seven items in all. The collection includes a letter from Daniel H. Goff, a Rhode Island native, sent from San Francisco, in 1849 to his family in Rhode Island. It includes military commissions of Daniel H. Goff and his son William M.Goff, in 1849 and 1865-1867 respectively. The collection also includes the wills of William’s brother, Daniel. C. Goff, probated 1852, and the latter’s wife, Martha Hall Goff, dated 1946.

Abstract:
This collection contains correspondence (letters, notes, note cards, postcards, off prints of literary reviews and publisher's announcements), photographs of the author, and typescript writings of short stories, poems, an academic essay, and a draft of the novel "Shamp of the city-solo" that Jaimy Gordon sent to and was collected by Laurence Eldredge and his wife, Betty Eldredge. Laurence Eldredge was a professor of English at Antioch College when Jaimy Gordon was and undergraduate at the college.
